Abstract

Children are considered as a dynamic group of population for providing anaesthesia, since their physiological variations are presumed to be challenging. As such, special attention should be given to the use of anesthetic drugs in the neonate population especially preterm. Good patient care requires a thorough awareness of the pharmacologic, physiologic and psychological variations between children and adults while giving general anesthetic medicines to them. This article discusses the essential principles and a complete literature review on pediatric anesthesia needed before providing anaesthesia to neonate population.
